1. Who is eligible for clear aligners?
Eligibility for Clear Aligners is based on various factors like severity of issues and age. To check if you are eligible or not some diagnostic procedures need to be done. We would take photographs, scans and then asees if Clear Aligners are the best treatment option for you or not.
Usually clear aligners are given to adults or children above the age of 13.2. How do Clear aligners work?
You will initially be assessed to check the eligibility for Clear aligners. Once you are eligible, scans will be done. Based on these scans a 3D model will be printed. You will get to view the end result digitally even before starting the treatment. Then custom trays will be made for you. These are the Clear aligners. Clear Aligners exert continuous pressure in small amounts on the teeth which make them change their position to the new position that we desire.
3. Is the treatment faster than traditional braces?
Yes, in most cases the treatment is completed faster as compared to traditional braces
4. What will be the frequency of my dental visit?
In the initial 6 months period of your treatment you will be advised to visit once every month. Then the frequency will be reduced to once every two months depending on your treatment.
5. What happens if I don’t wear my clear aligners for a day?
Your teeth require constant continuous pressure to bring a change in their position. If you don’t wear your aligners, teeth try to go back to their original position. You may feel that your aligners are tight. It is important to wear them for 20-22 hours a day to get the desired result on time.
Follow the instructions while taking care of your Clear aligners:
- Wear your aligners for 22-24 hours a day as instructed by the dentist.
- Before handling the aligners, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.
- Handle only one aligner at a time.
- Rinse your aligners each time you wear it and remove it.
- While wearing the aligners, make sure that they are aligned properly with your teeth before final placement.
- Do not bite on aligners to get them in place. Place your aligners properly and then bite on them.
